AVEVA™︎ Manufacturing Execution System - Operations: MES Operations Modeling

Description

This course is an approximately 5-hour eLearning course that explores the fundamentals of Operations modeling in MES. It discusses the MES Entity Model, capabilities, site configurations, shift patterns, and shift schedules. It describes the detailed processes for defining and executing work orders, as well as how to create a comprehensive operations model, manage work orders, and track job execution. In addition, it covers how to define item grades, item classes, states, and reasons. Practical labs provide a video demonstration of configuring the MES Client, enabling capabilities, and tracking production quality.

Objectives

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Define key terminologies related to Operations modeling
  • Explain Operations modeling
  • Identify labels in the user interface of MES Client and MES Operator related to Operations modeling
  • Create an Entity Model hierarchy and explain the MES Entity Model and capabilities
  • Enable a capability for scheduling shifts for Plant entities
  • Create a Site and Shift, create and configure a Shift Pattern, and view Shift Schedules for an Entity
  • Use MES Client to define the production process and its corresponding operations for making a specified product
  • Issue a work order against a production process and track jobs associated with each operation defined for that production process
  • Define Item Grades, States, and Reasons for consumption and production
  • Define the quality of production and consumption
  • Use MES Client to set the default Item Reasons and the global defaults for the entities being produced
  • Use MES Operator to describe the quality of production when running jobs associated with a work order
