We're upgrading a customer environment where we have CDP along with other SP compents (appserver mainly).
In the new CDP Technology Matrix there is note mentioning the following :
"CDP 2023 R2 SP1 can be installed on a clean machine, or a machine that has an earlier version of CDP only.
If you have installed CDP components with a System Platform installer, you can upgrade these components using only the upgraded version of the System Platform installer, not the standalone CDP installer. When you install CDP 2023 R2 SP1 with the standalone CDP installer, the installer will first scan for Application Server, InTouch, and Historian components on the machine, and if any version of these components are detected, the installation of CDP is blocked"
Why ? CDP standalone will indeed not install but is it asked to use SP root installation files to upgrade only CDP components ? I can image how many customers will just run the SP installer and get a new boostrap version of their platform. Maybe I don't understand the instructions ?
