InsightApp Follow Current Context

Hi All,
A customer is asking for the possibility to display the search bar and side menus typical of Historian Client Web within the OMI InsightApp embedded in a OMI Pane.
When importing the app into a Pane, it seems that an automatic "Follow Current Context" is executed without displaying the search bar and side menus.

The only alternative to fully display these functions would be to embed a web browser pointing to the URL of the Historian Client Web.

Are there configurable parameters via scripting to enable this functionality?

The initial description in the Help talks about this, but then there is no option to do it.

  • The app is specifically for the "follow current context". As you suggested, for the full Historian Client Web experience, you can use an embedded web control.

The details vary a little depending on the release, but some applications may need something "in between"--not the full Historian Client Web experience, but also not just the "follow current context" experience. For those cases, you can the embedded browser with the "URL-based chart definition" that gives more flexibility in which data is selected. The details vary slightly between releases and between "classic" and "modern" (which adds this capability in Historian 2023 R2 SP1).
