How to store InTouch HMI data in Wonderware Historian?

Subject: Guidance on Storing InTouch HMI Data in Wonderware Historian

Hello

I hope this email finds you well.

I am currently working with InTouch HMI and would like to ensure that the data collected by the HMI is properly stored in Wonderware Historian for long-term retrieval and analysis. Could you please guide me through the process of linking InTouch HMI with Wonderware Historian to log real-time data effectively?

Specifically, I would appreciate assistance with the following:

  • Configuring and enabling the necessary tags in InTouch HMI for data historization.
  • Establishing the connection between InTouch HMI and Wonderware Historian.
  • Setting up data collection parameters, such as tag scanning rates and data storage intervals, within the Historian.

Any additional tips on optimizing data storage, compression, or troubleshooting common issues would be highly valued.

Thank you for your support. I look forward to your guidance.

  • This depends on the version of InTouch.  If you are using 2020 R2 or newer, you can configure this from inside of InTouch, where it will manage the connection to the Historian, enable store/forward, and push the data from InTouch to the Historian.  If you have an earlier version, the setup is in Historian, where you can use the IDAS feature of Historian to reach over to your InTouch app that is running, and get the data.

In both cases, there are several options and choices.  It would be easier to connect via a screen share meeting to walk through the process than to try and provide all the steps and info on choices over the phone.  There are also different options/menus between the various versions as well.
