TXRX driver Indusoft/Wonderware

I have a question about the TXRX driver that I have used on Indusoft software, but now I need to use ASCII Ethernet messages on Intouch Wonderware software, so I need a similar driver than TXRX

Is there a TXRX driver on Intouch Wonderware software like the Indusoft TXRX driver?

  • Hi Oscar, since no one have jumped on this question I would suggest you to have a look at the TOP Server from Software Toolbox.

They have a broad portfolio of drivers supporting many different protocols.

As far as I know there are no native Aveva driver (OI Server) for the type of communication you are asking for and we have done many installation with TOP Server or Omniserver as an compliment to the Aveva portfolio in cases like this.

Software Toolbox is a partner product to Aveva and I know from a personal experience that they have an excellent support organization where you could raise your need and they will provide you with an idea on how to move forward.

If you were using Aveva Application Server there would be some ways to set up Ethernet communication from objects, but for InTouch I believe Software Toolbox is the way to go. Another path is to write your own driver using the available toolkits, but that might be to much effort to put in for something that might already be provided by Software Toolbox.

I hope it helps you forward.
