InTouch System Requirements

Hi all,
we would like to delve deeper into system requirements to recommend to our clients for standalone Intouch HMI installations. In particular, the focus is on small installations where clients need to optimize their hardware purchases.

If we look at the README file, for example, AVEVA InTouch HMI 2023, we find some indications that might be 'outdated' and have been carried forward for some time (e.g., 4 GB of RAM for installations up to 25,000 tags).

Are these requirements also taking into account the operating system's performance?
Are there any other documents/guidelines that are more up-to-date and that also address the impact of a TSE?

Thank you very much

  • The readme file has the requirements that come from the developers and are based on their testing.  We do not have any other documents.

Also, these are the MINIMUM numbers for these sizes.  Going larger could help, the closer to the top end of the size you are.  Something with just 100 tags being the low end, and closer to 25K tags likely benefiting from more.

  • Hi, can you provide any tag sizes that you need to spec, also scripting requirements , there are couple of things i would take into consideration when I design an Intouch SCADA system.

    1) I always select a higher GHz CPU , less cores vs lower GHz with higher cores

    2) Always go for SSD vs any SAS or HDD

    3) If its small system go for Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC editions vs any other editions

    4) Provide sufficient RAM for the SCADA

    5) Use a OT friendly antivirus , else it will eat up a lot of your resources

    6) Always go with 1GBPs backward compatible to 100 MBPs
