InTouch Authentication via Smat Card

Dear all,

Several clients and system integrators often ask us for more information regarding the Smart Card authentication method in InTouch.

I can find some guidance in the Help documentation and have come across older Tech Notes,

https://softwaresupportsp.aveva.com/#/knowledgebase/details/000022839?lang=en_us

In the readme file I found these as suggested devices:

  • Smart Card: Raak Technologies C2-40 Mini Driver Smart Card
  • Smart Card Reader: OK 3021 USB Smart Card Readers

but I’m struggling to find more up-to-date details, particularly regarding the types and models of Smart Cards that can be used (NFC Reader, Barcode Reader, QR Code Reader).

Do you have any updated manuals or information to share?
Thanks

  • I too find this outdated and I am queuing up some ideas in our backlog to address this. Honestly, I myself need to start by learning how this works because it's something of a lost art. It it likely something we want to address across the products in a consistent manner but we can definitively start with improving the documentation and guidance for InTouch specifically.

There are tons of exciting things in the works for InTouch and among them is a deployment guide which is currently being authored.
