Windows Maker does not open

Hello, I have a problem with Intouch Windows Maker that does not open. I tried to delete an archive named appedit.lok, but the problem still continue: windows maker does not open. I checked into to events, I found that error that says: "OnLoad: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt., exception: at MainFormHostService.OnMainFormLoas() at WindowMaker.ViewModel.MainFormViewModel.OnLoad()". Anyone know how solve this problem?

  • Hi

This do sound like a corruption of the application.

Please ensure that your application files for some reason are not marked as read only.

Also that your application is not developed using a newer patch level that what you are using.

If you can create a new application, and open this in window maker, try to do a recovery on your application that is causing your issues.

If possible, in Application Manager (or IDE if you are using managed application), do a DB dump of your tag database.

Load this csv to you new application using DB Load.

Import all windows from your broken application directory, ensure you have 'use existing tags' to ensure that you wont have to do manual work on each window later.

    Import all scripts.

Note any errors or issues during the import, it could be a clue on what is the issue with your original application.

If this works you can continue to recover your application by moving config files (if you have a lot of settings done for Window Maker and Viewer).

If you are using Industrial Graphics it will require some additional steps, I believe the complete recovery steps are described in some technote, I will try to locate this.

The above steps should not take you to long and will give you an idea on what is wrong in your application, if this is the cause of your problem.

Oh, and it would also be good to know what version you are running of InTouch
