Has anyone implemented redundancy in AVEVA InTouch? How does it compare to redundancy in AVEVA Plant SCADA?
Has anyone implemented redundancy in AVEVA InTouch? How does it compare to redundancy in AVEVA Plant SCADA?
Hi Mohamed Keshk ,
You can configure InTouch redundant I/O sources in Access Names, similar to Plant SCADA I/O devices. For my understanding, unlike Plant SCADA that allows multiple I/O servers (processes) running on the same node, InTouch actually utilizes the node as I/O server where you can configure multiple Access Names with the failover Access Names on different nodes. See Set up access names for details on AVEVA Documentations Website.
As for alarm redundancy, each InTouch node can be configured as alarm provider, similar to Plant SCADA I/O node. Please refer to
Enhance plant security through alarm redundancy
For trend data, please refer to Configure historical logging.
Hope this would help.
