SAM - Software Asset Manager?

I don't remember the full feature set of the Software Asset Manager but from what I remember it started life as a license management utilitiy and that particular feature has been superseded by the activation-based licensing and the license manager application.

Correct. this tool was used to manage and review Wonderware & Citect licenses upto v4.1. Part of the tool also provided checks & reports of the deployed software versions at each location. This helps fulful RFT requirements for software management of versioning.

Since it is EoL, now I'm seeking recommended alternatives for AVEVA Software. Not sure of we have anything?

Any guidance would be appreciated.
