Citect 2018 Evaluation-Trend in SA-Project -Zero/Full range set by Variable Tag

Hi,

I'm testing the trend functionality, we are reading low and high range for an analog signal dynamically from the controller. I.e we define both low and high range with their own variable tag.

The Zero Scale/ Full Scale Fields in Trends setup seems to not take a variable tag

Is there a way to set Zero/Full range values from a variable tag?

Thanks for any input,

Regards

Rune

  • Hi Rune,
The Zero/Full Scale fields in Trend Tag definition only accept static numeric values. This is because this information is compiled at design time and stored in the runtime database file. This is considered static metadata on the Trend tag and accessible via TagBrowse (for Trend tags). It is not currently supported to be dynamic data. I've not seen this user requirement where the scale needs to be dynamic at runtime. Can you describe the scenario you are trying to solve or provide more details on why you need dynamic scale?
It is however possible to modify the Trend tag configuration, Compile your project, reload the Trend Server to update the scale range. The Process Analyst also has a display scale that can be dynamically set, but this doesn't modify the underlying Trend tag scale.
    Good luck,
