In Citect we can block write access based on:
- licence type (View Only),
- roles
- IODeviceControl
- ControlInhibit
- [Client]ReadOnly parameter
We can also add this into the write command manually on all genies.
However, it would be very nice to have a client-side functionality where you have the same functionality as with the [Client]ReadOnly, where you could call "ClientReadOnly(1)/ClientReadOnly(0)", in order to add a level of security in regards to "Arming" the system for writes on the client side. This could also be used as a simple way of sharing system control between clients.
