Recover an I/O Device from Offline status

Hi,

I have in I/O Device connected to an OPC server which reads some Modbus devices. When the communication between OPC and Modbus devices fails, the I/O device gets offline.

When an I/O device gets offline due to communication error, is there a way to make it automatically reconnect when communication is reestablished?

Default behaviour in Citect is trying to reconnect every 30 seconds. Could it be an issue in your OPC server?
Also, is there a need for OPC in your project? I recommend OPC only for communication protocols that have no native Citect driver.

The OPC is OFS 3.5.
I need the OPC because the tags have to be exposed to some other OPC clients, these are the requirements. I've tested with another OPC client and the tags values are OK when communication gets back, so the issue seems to be in Citect.

I believe OFS 3.50 has issues with reconnecting. I recommend using the latest version (3.62 at this moment).
I assume you are using the latest Citect driver as well? This is OFSOPC 3.00.04.000_HOTFIX (available on request via Support).
