Trend tags cannot be found in process analyst

Hi.

I created trend tags in Citect SCADA 7.5 from existing variable tag. The folder is created in the directory I specified but for some reason when the process analyst is opened and a search is done for the new trend tags they don't show up, if I select variable tags I find it with the exact same tag name but under trends they don't how show.

what could be the reason for this?

  • we have a primary and secondary SCADA system, seems like the trend server was active on the secondary that did not have the new trend tags as we wanted to deploy only after it is working primary.
  • Hi Shaun,
The Client will connect to the last stable Server connection (for Alarm, Trend and Report types). The way IO connections work is slightly different and is based on priority field of IO Devices. So when you rolled out the new change on Primary Trend Server (shutdown, restart) the Client would have switched to Standby Trend Server. You can override this behaviour by specifying a priority on each Server connection (see online help for details on this). Another option you could try is perform a reload on Server server, assuming you can make use of this feature and have the change made and compiled and ready on the Server Run path (it does require certain project roll out strategies to be employed). From the Kernel Window on the Client, you can type 'Page Table Tran' to see all active connections and which Server the client is currently connected to.
