CitectSACA2018 Running 16 Monitors?

Hello,

I know the docs state the only 8 monitors are officially supported, but what if we ran two citect32.exe instances? The setup would only be a control client, I know I would need to launch citect32.exe using a custom .bat file and a pre-saved citect.ini file (I have done that before), but if we had two control client licenses and enough video outputs, I can't think of any other issues. Just thought I'd pose the question here.

TIA,

Chris

  • Hi Chris,
Agree, what you have proposed is possible. The limitation of 8 monitors was placed because of testing on what we thought were large representative systems. Your project may be different, but beware that the data change rate can influence the load on the overall system and the client. Definitely keep an eye on both the overall machine CPU and the individual citect32.exe CPU usage.
Another limitation is there is no "connection" between the work spaces. So they would each be fairly self contained.
Let us know how you go.
    Kind regards
    Olivier
