I am trying to adapt an existing project to be run as a simulation/training system on a stand alone laptop without network connectivity. I have basically taken the original project and set all I/O device to memory, set the servers (I/O, trend, report, alarm) to the IP address of the laptop the project is running on. The machine is not connected to any network and ideally will not be when in use. When I do the Setup Wizard I can only configure the system as a client. How can I setup a project to run just locally on a machine without being connected to a network? Interestingly, if I just plug this machine into any network/switch Setup Wizard will now allow me to choose a server setup.
