RSLinx OPC Server

Hello. 

I am having some difficulties with setting up my Citect 2016 as an OPC Client. I am using RSLinx OEM for my OPC communications to a single PLC node. I continually receive an error of not being able to import any of the tags into Citect. I have tested my OPC server with an Excel client which works flawlessly. 

If Anybody could help me with the steps to link my OPC server to Citect then it would be greatly appreciated. I am quite new to the software and this is holding me back in a big way. 

  • Hi Adam, you could try using the OPCLX driver, which is an OPC driver that was designed to specifically work with RSLinx. There are many OPC settings that are normally required to be configured to make communications work.
    If you want to stick with OPC driver, then have a look at the TechNotes on the support website. But most important setting is [OPC]UseOPC2=1.
