M580 Hot standby trend data back filling in case of both CPU losses communication

Hello All,

When we are using M580 redundancy with CitectSCADA, over MODNET/OFSOPC, will it be possible to back-fill the trend data from M580 to Citect,  in-case both PLCs looses communications with SCADA?

  • OFS will always communicate to the active controller. If the active controller fails the IP addresses of the ethernet cards of the controllers are automatically swapped. If you then also use I/O device redundancy you have a very low chance of loosing data. Otherwise you need an different communication card in the controller, for instance https://www.schneider-electric.com/en/product/BMXNOR0200H/ethernet---serial-rtu-module---2-x-rj45/ and use the DNPR or IEC870 protocol. These are DRI drivers which can automatically backfill trend data. It will require some extra engineering and cost as these protocols can be quite complicated.
