Citect SCADA 2018 Client connect to Citect SCADA V7.2 server

the customer want to add  two citect scada  clients  for extending their system,  the existing system used the v7.2.

And the new added clients running under the windows 10, so we must install the citect 2018,  but I'm not sure the v2018 clients can communicate with v7.2 server or not?

Could somebody give some advice?

  • That's not a very common scenario. There have been some big changes in the Alarm Server since V7.30 so I'm not sure if it will work. Have you tried already? Maybe use parameter [LAN]EarliestLegacyVersion, but it's advised to only use this during upgrade and should be removed after the upgrade is complete. Best thing to do is upgrade the existing system to V2018 and install the latest updates, but you need a support contract for the site.
