Citect scada 7.20, file is already open.

Hello.

This message pops up everytime I start citect explorer: Unable to refresh tags, the file is already open.

I've tried deleting both the main project and the included project, without success.

The problem dissapears when I delete the included project, but comes back as soon as I make a project with the same name.

Any ideas?

  • I would check units.dbf of each Citect project (including your projects, Include, System, and Example projects) using Excel or LibreOffice. It's possible you accidentally created a device in one of the built-in projects and that's why it happens even if you delete and re-create your project. If there's no I/O Server defined in the project, then the Project Editor won't show the I/O Devices. So, it's easiest to look directly at the DBF files.

    Look for the LINKED field. If it is TRUE then it is configured to refresh tags from an external database. You should be able to just clear the value or set it to FALSE. If you have devices that should be linked, then also check the REFRESH and LIVEUPDATE fields to see which ones are set to update automatically.
