Integration Interactive Maps

Interactive Maps?

Hi

Is it possible to integrate some kind of Google Maps style interactive map (something for free), that you can zoom in and out, and add coloured overlays of multi-alarm states?

Thanks in advance.

  • They have already built it into ClearSCADA, but I doubt that it will come to CitectSCADA soon.
  • Thanks Patrick.
so there are no ways to use APIs (free, of third parties) and integrate them with Citect Graphics builder?
  • Possibly, if they are ActiveX controls or components that can be shown in an embedded browser control or something similar.
I might have seen some demo of that sometime ago.
However, I don't think it's possible to place overlays on top of that if you want to build them with native Citect elements.

Maybe somone from AVEVA can share more details on this subject.
  • There are more ways to achieve your request. My personal favorite is by using the Insight connector. You can download the connector for the Product Hub. With a few click you enable "Historize" on those tags in Citect you want to follow on the map. Setup the connecter with a login to Citect (kernel user) and create an account on InSight. For each tag you can define a geolocation, and when you choose the mapview they are automatically displayed on their location.

First of all, this does not exactly solve your "show multi-alarm states". Basically because it shows values, and not alarmstates. BUT.. The user can very quickly create an alert with multiple triggers, a comment to the event or email notification on situation of high interest. The InSight portal also include a mobile app - making the service even more handy for the service engineers on the run.

InSight does a lot more out of the box than just show status on a map. If you decide to use/trial it - you can implement the content in a page in Citect.
