  • Hi ,
Check out this section in the help:
    https://gcsresource.aveva.com/Citect/WebHelp/citect2018/Content/Redundancy.html

Basically you configure a pair of Servers for each process type (IO, Alarm, Trend and Report) such that if one machine is down, the other will take over the complete role. It is simply define primary or standby as the "Mode".
The I/O Device redundancy is a bit more complicated, but basically you just create two I/O devices with the same number, with one Primary, the other Standby, also define a priority, with 1 for Primary and 2 for Standby. You define n-level redundancy at I/O Device level, but really just keep it simple and define one on the "Primary" I/O Server and the second one on the "Standby" I/O Server.

Then simply run the computer setup Wizard on each machine (with the update project) and it will be fairly straight forward from there.
  • Hamza, you have to define this in th Citect Sturdio under Topology. Under Edit you have to define (2 of each) : Computers, Network Addresses, Alarm/Trend/Report/IO Servers. You can define two profiles for the two servers. During the setup of the profile the ip address is taken into account and the appropriate server tasks are configured for you. In the Computer Setup Wizard then just select the correct profile.

  • What to write to device ip1 and device ip2 in the alarm setup properties section in the computer setup wizard. You can look at server1 and server2 from below.
    Alarm server gives error.

  • It may be helpful to contact Support and send the 2 crash dump together with the project configuration.
