Swapping or Changing Genie Links Manually

Hi Brandon,

Unfortunately there is no easy way to do this. I would love to see that feature as well.
But there is a workaround that you might be using already:
1. Save the original genie to a different name and/or library
(You could copy the ctm file to a different destination to accomplish this as well)
2. Remove the original genie from the source library
2. Open the page containing the genie to get the prompt you described in your original post
3. Select 'Yes to All' and point to the updated genie and save your page
4. Open the original genie from its temporary location and save it back to its original name/library

This will not work if you want different versions of your genie on the same page. In that case you have to re-paste it manually in the Graphics Builder, like you described.

Perhaps you could send a feature request to the dev team?

This can also be done using some Graphics Builder Automation (GBA) scripting:
- You can open a page and loop through every AN.
- Check if it's a genie. If so, retrieve the x,y position and read all the properties.
- Remove the genie and Place the new genie
- Set the x,y coordinate and genie properties

I used this heavily in a project to generate detail pages with a lot of genie instances with properties based on coordinates from a SQL database (sounds familiair Patrick?)

Ah yes, the good old GBA...
That is a much more flexible solution indeed, but also a bit more difficult.

And yes, I know which project you mean. I'm having some tunnel vision right now. ;-)

I'm not familiar with Graphics Builder Automation (GBA) scripting, but I am intrigued by the concept. Would you all happen to have an example of GBA?
