When configuring Citect SCADA communication, the maximum number of ports for one board

Hello, Sir.

I want to connect with about 500ea power meters and Citect SCADA.

All communication uses Ethernet.

Therefore, the board type of Citect SCADA is 'TCPIP'.
Ports of Citect SCADS must be registered for the number of power meters.

At this time, is there a limit on the number of ports for one board?

  • Hi ,
We have tested thousands of simulated power meter devices in our lab.
It looks like there is a limit of 512 ports per board (tn8321) for Modnet, but it is different for other protocols.
I think the actual limit shouldn't really matter, since to design this system properly, I would recommend creating multiple I/O Servers to host these devices. E.g. you could simply create two I/O Servers, each with their own Board, with 250 Ports defined, which each communicate to 250 end devices.
If you want a more specific answer, please let me know what protocol or Citect Driver you intend to use.
