Citect Scada 2018 read variables in remote OFS OPC DA

Hello,

I have a problem to connect Citect Scada 2018 to a remote OFS (OPC Factory server) on a remote computer.

I already made the differents settings for DCOM communication : on my local machine, if I open OFS Client, and try to connect to the remote OFS Server, the services start correctly and my client can connect to remote server (I can see variables from my M580)

The problem I have is how to create IOServer or how to configure the IO server in Citect Scada to connect to my remote server.

I already created an IO Device and my Citect Scada imported all the variables. But when I map an imported variable on a view and launch the runtime, communication doesn't works and services on the remote computer doesn't start.

Do you have any advice ?

Thank you

  • Hi Thomas, please check if you can read tags also using another OPC client tool, like OPC Expert. In the case of remote OPC server, you need to make sure that DCOM is properly set. You also need to check if your IO device goes online without errors. You can check in the driver help for info on OPC as well as maybe check the TN5212 for the DCOM setup. If further help troubleshooting your OPC device, you can open a support ticket on citect.support@aveva.com
