Graphics Builder Automation and Visual Studio 2019

I have written Graphics Builder Automation routines previously, back when Excel didn't need a special spreasheet to run VBA.

Has anybody written GBA code in Visual Studio 2019?  I see that it is different than VBA, and the old programs don't port to VB.

Is it better to move to C#?

Or is Graphics Builder Automation even compatilble with anything but VBA?

I seem to remember an old white paper on the language, but can't seem to find it anywhere.

Anybody have suggestions?
