Siemens S7-315 2PN/DP communication with Citect 2018

Hello all,

I want to setup communication of s7-315 2 PN/DP CPU with citect 2018 over ethernet.

Which Driver i should use for IO devices? There are S7-NT and S7-TCP.

Also do i required additonal Siemens driver license on a PC where my citect is running?

  • Does PSDIRECT still require poll blocks? This means you have to lay out the data correctly in the PLC.
    S7NT can poll data from all over the place provided it's on a 4 byte boundary.
    S7NTSP can poll data when it's not on a 4 byte boundary. Have to also buy Siemens Simatic Net to use S7NT/SP though.
