Citect 6.1

Hello all,

Unfortunately i am adding devices in a Citect 6.1.

Is there any limitation on the number of units or iodevice? Because the last one i add doesnt communicate, but if i put it above in the list it starts to communicate and the other one that went to the last one stops communicating.

Best Regards

  • This could have several causes: a limit of the protocol driver (or its license), a limit of the TCPIP driver (for ethernet based protocols), a limit of the OS version (Windows TCP/IP stack), a limitation within Citect v6.10 (number of sessions, files, handles, etc.), an I/O device configuration error, etc.

    Some questions:

Did you encounter any compiler error or warning?

Are there any error messages in the Kernel or in the Syslog files on startup?

Any hints in the Drivers or I/O Device pages in the Kernel for the device that is offline?

What protocol and driver do you use?

    What OS are you using

How many I/O devices can you configure without error?

If communication is based on ethernet, you might want to consider upgrading both the protocol driver and the TCPIP driver to the latest version supported by Citect 6.1 and the OS you are using, TCPIP drivers before v2.04.04.000 have a limited amount of channels (255) available. Newer versions have 512 channels or more available.

  • Hello Patrick,

Did you encounter any compiler error or warning?

    No...

Are there any error messages in the Kernel or in the Syslog files on startup?

Any hints in the Drivers or I/O Device pages in the Kernel for the device that is offline?

What protocol and driver do you use?

    Modnet V2.09.05.001

    What OS are you using

    Server 2003 R2

How many I/O devices can you configure without error?

I Have 58 Primary devices and 58 secondary. And have 122 ports. The problema is the port 121. The port that i place in the 121 position the device stops comunicating.
