Error Saving Deployment

Upgraded from CitectSCADA 2018 R2 to PlantSCADA 2020 R2 and I cannot copy a web deployment in IE. I ran a Prepare Web Deployment, went to localhost/plantscada, logged in as admin, edit deployment, set deployment name to MyProject and path to C:\ProgramData\AVEVA Plant SCADA 2020 R2\User\MyProject (the global project). When I try to apply changes, I get the error:

Error Saving Deployment: Either the Plant SCADA project path or the web deployment preparation is invalid.

Just to make sure I had the project path correct (or at least similar to the last installation), I set the project path to the location of my 2018 R2 web deployment and it copied the web deployment successfully. Obviously this doesn't run due to the version difference, but it was a test to confirm it had the ability to copy a deployment.

Please help! Thanks

  • Hi  ,

I recommend reaching out to AVEVA technical support to troubleshoot this issue.

It sounds like it might have something to do with the logged in user and not having access to the folder. I know the legacy Web Client configuration is quite involved and requires a lot of manual steps setting up folder security.

Wish you the best of luck getting to the bottom of this issue.

    Kind regards

    Olivier
