Dual IP Address Configuration for Network Address Field

it is possible two create network redundancy in SCADA Software in accordance with Help File, The computer doesn't find itself as Server in related step in Setup Wizard configuration. Is there anyone who know the reason of this incompatibility in SCADA Software.

  • Yes, it is possible. It is assumed that both server1 and server2 machines have dual NICs, one in subnet 192.168.0.xxx and the other subnet in 192.168.1.xxx. Here is the configuration

    Network Addresses (4 entries)

    • Name -> Server1_NIC1 and Address -> 192.168.0.241
    • Name -> Server1_NIC2 and Address -> 192.168.1.241
    • Name -> Server2_NIC1 and Address -> 192.168.0.242
    • Name -> Server2_NIC2 and Address -> 192.168.1.242

    In each server 's configuration, eg IOServer1

    • Server Name -> IOServer1 and Network Addresses -> Server1_NIC1,Server1_NIC2 (with comma separator without space)

    Hope this would help.

  • Thank you so much for helping me, Jacky. Yes, the configuration that you defined above is working very well.

    By the way, in my previous works, i used to use to define two NICs for each Network Addresses without needing IO Server increment and that method made my works easier due to low number of IO Servers. But now, it is not possible to do it. I can't get when something was developed somehow another things was retrogressed in Citect.

    Anyhow, we still move forward.

  • Just a warning here - I have some projects where there are dual NIC's, but only one used in the project (corporate network).  When I configure the 2nd NIC in Windows, I lose comms entirely.  It does work on 127.0.0.1

    It's in with tech support, but not resolved.
