Citect 2016 Licensing Concept...

Hello All,

Need a help in understanding the behavior of Citect in dynamically counting the Tags.

As per licensing terms of Citect, Variable tags are considered towards point count whenevar it was requested FIRST TIME.

If suppose, i have 2 screens, each screen has 50 tags all are differant from other screen. on Navigating from Screen1 to Screen2, will tags point counter will be 100 ( 50 of Screen1 + 50 Screen2)? or it will be 50 only since the tags on currently displayed page only are considered as they are first time displayed. In this tags count i will add up variable used in alarm, trends , reports,events,  etc.

Also What will happen in Runtime if i exceeds the Tags count license for a variable tags used.

  • If I'm not wrong, every used external tag adds to a total when used for the first time..
    So,tags point counter will be 100 ( 50 of Screen1 + 50 Screen2)

    when you exceed your license, a notice is shown on screen and Citect can't use the new tags..(The erlier tags still works).

    after restarting Citect the license resets and again start  couning used  tags to a total..

    in kernel you can see how many tags thats used by the License..
