Upgrading 2 only I/O servers Win 7 to Win 11 - Plant Scada Version V8.1 to stay same

i will soon look at a hardware upgrade to our 2 current servers from WIN 7 O/S to WIN 11 O/S with our Plant Scada version to stay the same in the short term at V8.1.

multiple client workstations are all on WIN10 O/S Plant SCADA V8.1.

my initial plan is to configure both new servers on a separate isolated network with a test I/O device and once testing is completed then test with 1 original server and 1 New server to plant network.

can i ask if there is a document with detail on how to do this and anything i need to be aware of with the wealth of experience on this forum..

  • About the upgrade as the citect version is the same, you don't need do nothing, shutdown one of the Win7 servers remove the license , install it in the Win 11 server as start the server. (I'm guessing the new server will have the same IP addresss as the older one) check the redundancy is working, then you can replace the clients and the other server.
