Citect OPC DA client communication with RSLinx

Hello All,

Customer is having having Citect 2016 Running one one PC and other PC running with RSLinx Classic Gateway already configured with some Topic and tags.

We have to integrate the Tags from RSLinx into Citect Station. For this we are using Citect OPC DA Client. All neccesary DCOM settings are also done RSLinx on a Remote PC is browsable from citect PC.

Now issue i faced is ..

1. On running IO Device wizard for OPC DA client, on linking external tag databae to remote RSLinx opc server it shows 0 tags added and give messege unable to refresh tags.

Error snaps is attached..

This is a generic error meaning that the attempted external database is not accessible.

Try to review your COM/DCOM settings in comparison with the ones recommended in the following blog.

If the problem persists, you need to also review DCOM Hardening enabled by Windows Updates.
