Dcom Setting of a Remote PC is configured properly, can  access tag in through testing client, and OPC Server on a Remote PC can be browse in External Database. (Remote_OPC_Drowsing.png).

However When Citect is put in Runtime Still see Variable as #BAD.

Kindly help to resolve the issue.

  • Hi

Your problem appears to be DCOM setting related. Is SCADA runtime in the desktop or service mode? The SCADA process launch user should be matched with the DCOM settings as well as COM Security on the server side. In some case, you may have to use "This user" instead of "The interactive user" in DCOM of a OPC DA server. If you search for "OPC DA" on this forum, you will find quite a few posts related to OPC DA or DCOM issues. You may find some answer from these discussions. Hope your problem will be resolved very soon.

  • Thanks Jacky for your reply...

I done the settings recommended however still no success....

I reverify the DCOM setting as per the manuals...We are running SCADA Runtime in the desktop.

    Any other suggestions please.

    Warm regards

  • Have you tried [OPC]UseOPC2=1 on SCADA I/O server side? This parameter is set to 0 by default, which means the driver will use OPC DA v1.0a interfaces.

Also review your DCOM settings with

    Good luck.
