Citect 2018 R2 button permissions

Hello all,

I'm currently trying to update the permissions on some of the buttons on the main screen we're displaying. Specifically, I'm trying to limit what the production operators can do. There's a few buttons we have that should be limited to maintenance. The maintenance buttons have a security level of 5 and I want the operators to have only a level of 3. After I change the operator access in the security screen for the operators to 3 and compile the program, the buttons with a level of 5 are still displayed. Also, I'm not limiting specific operators, but the operator group that we have in windows active directory. What am I missing?

  • If you want the button to disappear, you have to go to the Access tab on the top, then the Disable tab on the right, and select "Disable on insufficient area or privilege". Then select the Disable Style.

You can make the object hidden, but it can be helpful for operators/maint people to be able to see the buttons, but have them embossed or grayed out. That makes it obvious the command is there but they need to log in or get a maint person to log in to execute it.
