SAP and Plant Scada

How do I integrate/get report from Citect SCADA to SAP?

  • I would say like you would integrate any external system to Citect SCADA, you have several options.

In my experience with SAP integration the following ones are commonly used:
    - file exchange (input/output) through Cicode scripts, e.g. for product master data.
    - database exchange, still through Cicode scripts using the built-in ODBC support, e.g. for production reporting.

In both cases scripts can be run periodically on a server process (e.g. Trend server).

The "best way" really depends on the nature of the data, the volume of the data to be exchanged, the frequency at which SAP expects/generates the data...

There are more options but personally I prefer the simple & battle-tested 2 solutions above when possible.
