How does the deadband works in citect historian?

Hi,

I am trying to understand how the data are being stored in the historian database. On the logging tab under data acquisition, it is set to real time with log sample setting to 60 polls. Each poll is 1 second. Logging is enabled with deadband of 1. The Eng zero = 0 and Eng full = 90.

When the value was 0, it was logging close to every 60 seconds, which is the 60 polls settings. When the value was changing, it logged:

0.88         7:51:08

1.004332 7.51:39

1.9           7:51:46

If the deadband is 1%, then the deadband value is 90*0.01=0.9, the difference between the data @7:51:08 and 7:51:39 is only 0.14.

  • Deadband behaviour: when the deadband check box is enabled the historian will not log when the data change falls within the deadband threshold.

The Citect Historian product is  in limited support until 31/12/2024. Recommend upgrade to AVEVA Historian.
