Upgrading Citect SCADA 2018 to Plant SCADA 2023R2

Thanks Jacky, Oh this is disappointing. looks like i need to do some study then. would i be correct in assuming the upgrade path is now SCADA V 2018 (V8.1) -> 2020R2 (V8.3)  -> 2023R2 (V8.5) ?

assuming i do the above for servers only, would i need to do all Clients to the interim stage 2020R2 (V8.3) or could i leave them at 2018 and then jump to 2023R2

Some recommended reading for your study would be the "Installation Guide.pdf" that comes with Plant SCADA 2023 R2, which has the section "Upgrading Plant SCADA". It clearly specifies the method and the requirements.

In general it is good to upgrade all clients in the system fully, before proceeding to the next version upgrade. There have been significant changes in the Server/Client protocol over those versions (from 2018 to 2023 R2) so they won't be compatible.

So I would definitely recommend upgrading your clients to interim stage 2020R2 as well as the Servers, before the upgrade to 2023 R2.
