Plant SCADA Access Anywhere

Hi there,

I'm supporting a customer running plant SCADA access anywhere - upto 100 independent users (not simultaneous).
Users licensed via AD (CAL)

Customer has reported that Access anywhere gets slower and slower over the course of the week, to the point of failure.

Login doesn't work, just shows black screen etc.

VM statistics are fine, no excess RAM / CPU usage.

Issue is rectified with server reboot.

Plant SCADA 2023 - Update 11.

Has anyone come across this one before ?

  • Hi Brian,

I can't think what would cause that issue to occur, is the slow down incremental and not related to total number of clients running?

I would highly recommend reaching out to AVEVA technical support, and do a live debug session with them. Some of the suggestions they make or questions they may ask:

    • What type of licensing are you using? AEL or Sentinel USB?
    • Would you be able to update to the latest patch (Update 19, Oct 8 2024)?
    • If you are not using Web Content feature in your project, I'd recommend setting the following Citect.ini on the Anywhere Server host, to reduce the number of Citect32.exe processes: [Animator]EnableWebContent=0
    • Are there any messages in the syslog.dat or aaLogger during the slow down?
    • Are all the Anywhere services running normally?
    • Are there any messages in the Windows Event log during the time of the issue?

Hope these suggestions help and that you get to the root cause of this issue.

    Kind regards

    Olivier
