CCTV display in PlantSCADA

Hello,

A client has asked if it is possible to show a CCTV stream within the PlantSCADA runtime.

Assuming the CCTV camera supports the RTSP protocol is there an easy way to achieve this?

So far I have attempted to use the VLC media player ActiveX control, but have not been able to get it to work. This could just be my relative unfamiliarity with using ActiveX controls in Citect.

Has anyone had any luck with implementing CCTV before?

Yes, it is possible. There are a few how-to articles about using video ActiveX controls with Plant SCADA or Citect SCADA. Below are the links.

Please note that DO NOT run Video ActiveX on a server node because this resource intensive operation would have impact on the server performance.

Apparently I don't have permission to view the first article you linked. The second one just shows how to launch the VLC executable from a cicode function. My preference would be to embed the video feed within PlantSCADA, is this what is covered in the first article?

If you have issue on opening the articles, please use the feedback button on the website to report the issue.
On your account you should check if an active CF is displayed.
