Bundling UA Server Expert with PlantSCADA/Citect

This sounds like a good idea. Especially as OFS is no longer actively developed or enhanced. The industry is moving away from OPC DA to OPC UA.

I've not heard of any plans to bundle UA Server Expert with Plant SCADA. I will pass on this suggestion to the Plant SCADA product manager.

I'd also encourage you to post a suggestion on the AHA platform, to help give this more weight. Others might also up vote this suggestion.

Do you know by any chance if there will be plans for a native UMAS driver for Plant SCADA now OFS development will stop? Standard Modbus/TCP as well as OPC UA do not achieve the performance of OFS in combination with Schneider PACs.

When I was working on the Sydney Desalination project over a decade ago, I was begging the Citect R&D team to develop a native UMAS driver. Unfortunately I wasn't persuasive enough.

I've not heard of any current plans to develop such a driver, which is a shame. So our only option is OFSOPC and OFS for the time being.

It would be interesting to learn what enhancements are being made to UA Server Expert to help it catch up.
