Plant Scada 202R2 configurator - SMS failure -the specified base address for the token service is invalid parameter name :tokenservicebase address

Question

i am upgrading client workstations and have successfully done 6 now, but i get an error in configurator on one machine for some reason. 
 
 my SMS is seen in the drop down list ok but i get the following error when trying to configure the SMS in configurator 
 "the specified base address for the token service is invalid parameter name :tokenservicebase address " 
 this error was found in the archestra log viewer aaLogViewer.exe 
 
 what does this mean and how do i correct it ?

Hi Alan , 
 PCS SMS is also serving as token host (playing the Identity Management role). This error means that the identity client failed to create a URI based on the selected SMS. Maybe you should do 
 
 Check the version of PCS installed on the SMS and this client machines (the client version should be equal to or less than the server's) 
 Check if the client machine still remain "Trust" on the domain (I assume that your system is running on a domain) 
 Try to manually type in the SMS FQDN in Configurator and then configure 
 Check the port number specified for the remote SMS server (Advanced options in Configurator). 
 
 I assume Plant SCADA 2020R2 is used in your project. Its PCS version should be 4.6.x depending on which update is installed. 
 If the issue persists, you should reach out to Technical Support for further troubleshooting.
