Citect 2016 Deployment Error

Hello, I am trying to deploy to a client and keep getting 'An internal error occurred while deploying a project version onto a remote node. The deployment did not finish successfully.' error . I've checked there is plenty of disk space and 'everyone' has all the permissions for the cache folder and the deployment folder. I am able to deploy to other clients. Citect Version 8 Update 21. Please help.

  • Take a look at tracelog.SE.Asb.Deployment.Server.WindowsService.dat in .\Logs folder on the deployment server machine. Hopefully, there would be some useful information logged in the file. Note that Citect 2016 is pretty old and the deployment trace log name could be different.

  • This appears to be a technical issue, so I recommend getting in touch with AVEVA Technical Support to troubleshoot this issue further.

    But if looking to debug it yourself, what Jacky has recommended below is a good start. Also check on the client side for its corresponding log file, in case there are any details there.

    You could also try remove the client (from Deployment Server UI) then delete the Program Data\PlantSCADA Vxxx\Deployment\Client folder and also the Config\SE.Asb.Deployment.Node.WindowsService.exe.config file on the Deployment Client side, then connect the Deployment Client (using Configurator) to the Deployment Server again.
