OMI Alternative Login (Windows native options) for next release ?

Hi Team,

we discussed about several time but we really need to get an alternative way to log in OMI by using Windows security as smartcard, face recognation, pincode...

I'm not asking a login by script but a way to fasten the connection for operators who are on the shopflor and sometime are using touchscreens.

More and more System Platform are using Active Directory user authetication and it frequently brings password complexy and pain to operators.

I aware of switching Windows session but it is not an efficient option as you loose the context and it takes time to switch.

I can easily share customer list that are asking us for this kind of limitation.

Thanks

  • This is something we need to have a look at. We want to avoid building something for OMI, then rebuilding it for InTouch, and then rebuilding it for Edge, and then the IDE, and the Historian client, and Teamwork, and, and and... So we want to add this to our identity manager so that it can be used across all the products in the same manner. The identity manager today supports Azure and AVEVA connect, but we are working on plans to expand the capabilities. I cannot make any quick promises here - we sometimes have to make hard choices between what to do and what to postpone, but we are very aware that it is a much-asked-for requirement
