AVEVA System Platform Multi Galaxy implementation?

Hi Team,

I'm currently assisting the customer with the multi-Galaxy implementation and have a few inquiries:

  1. What is the scan rate for data exchange in the multi-Galaxy environment? Can the scan rate be configured?
  2. According to the IDE help document, "A single instance of the ASBMxDataProvider service can subscribe to up to 20,000 data changes per second. Beyond that, a new ASBMxDataProvider service should be created and deployed on the publishing side." Is there a method to determine the volume of data exchange in the MGC?
  3. I have an old guide from 2013. Unable to attached the file, but the file name is, "Multi-Galaxy Celestial Navigation ArchestrA System Platform 2012 R2 - Steven L. Weygandt – Portfolio Product Manager (Device Integration) Stan Devries – Director Solutions Architecture April 2013"

Is there a more recent version of this document available?

Regards,

Arul

  • Hello Arul,

Here are the direct answers to your questions:

    1. The scan rate of data exchanged cannot be tuned.

    2. The method to measure that is not trivial.

    3. We do not have newer version of this document.

    Now,

Depends on your AppServer version you are using. In later version we made additional improvements to the mutli-galaxy architecture and each platform within the galaxy have its own ASBMXDataProvider, hence you do not have a single point to the entire source galaxy also we added more information about the multi-galaxy and enhancements into the IDE document to help out with it.
