Difference between System Platform 2023 P04 and 2023 R2?

They are two separate versions.

The latest new feature version is System Platform 2023 R2.  The P04 is the latest update to System Platform 2023.

If you're starting a new project 2023 R2 is the latest new feature version.

I know it does show P04 first on the GCS website, I think because it was the last posted.

Regarding 2023R2 and Patch 04.  I have a related question to this topic,  I am currently doing an upgrade from 2021.  Is there anyone that recommends against applying P04 as well?

I seem to remember seeing somebody commenting on it being problematic and thus not recommended.

Read the ReadMe for 2023 P4 > we held at 2023 P3 on a project because it has a caveat that requires you to wait till 2023 R2 P1 is released if you are planning a future upgrade to 2023 R2 from 2023 P4 > apparently it rolls back some functionality!
