Run AVEVA SP or Intouch Linux or Containers

Can AVEVA System Platform or Intouch run in linux or in a container ?? Looking at our current OT world this seems to be a dire need of the hour !! I believe both package support .NET Core , any solutions/ answers to this ?? I know AVEVA Edge can but it's too basic, looking at SP or Intouch

  • Currently no, but we are working our way toward this by gradually replacing Windows-specific technologies with multi-platform technologies, as well as replacing desktop applications with web-based clients/server architecture to support headless deployments.

With respect to .NET, we are moving away from the .NET Framework which is tied to Windows, and we're embracing .NET Core.

Today, AVEVA Edge is our offer for non-Windows platforms and containerization. Edge enables us to deploy to comparatively low end devices and into embedded systems. Be aware, however, that Linux doesn't mean zero vulnerabilities. Quite the opposite in fact and it is just as important to patch Linux (and Linux containers) as it is to patch Windows on a regular basis.
