How to activate a slide-in pane using script (OMI Toolkit)?

we have implemented this on several galaxies.

The script you mention is correct : 

ArchestrA.Client.ViewApp.ViewApplication.Application.ActivateSlideInPane(MyContent.HistoricalTrendControl1,ArchestrA.Client.ViewApp.SlideInPanePosition.Top);

but you need to point to an existing content. I can see that you don’t have a content called historicaltrendcontrol1. Make sure you have the top slide in pane configured.

on which version are you trying the script ?

i don’t understand why support keeps saying it’s not possible ..

Thanks for jumping in to this discussion.

I did try this using 2023 R2 P01, i used a script contained in the layout and thanks to autocomplete, I'm sure I'm referring to an existing object that is contained in my slide in pane.

So in my case I must be missing something.

I do know that the script executes and I do not capture any exceptions. 

Is it possible for you to share the code you use, or any other things that could be the reason for my environment to deviate from your working solution.

I have tried the following in 2023 R2 P01 without success. I have tried reference and as per your indication, omit reference to any control (Object parameter).
I'm at the moment installing 2020 R2 SP1 in a test setup to check if the behavior is different.

I was unable to get this to work in 2020 R2 SP1, using same method as described in previous post.

So I'm hoping that reason is something wrong in how I am using this script.

Got it work, please don't forget to import the .dll

You must load into the IDE the ArchestrA.Client.ViewApp.ViewApplication.dll that you can find at multiple places in the root installation drive after the SP installation. And you need at least one app in your layout !

The issue with the latest version is that you're unable to load the dll. I think... but I must test it again. 

Another remark : you can call the slide in but you need to click in another place to make it disapear. You can't do that via scripting but it sounds logical to me.

I have imported the dll. but the name is ArchestrA.Client.ViewApp.dll

In 2023 there is also a dll named ArchestrA.Client.ViewApp.Core.dll

I have an app in my test layout, if the navigation app counts? :)

On the topic of closing the navigation slide in it is high up on the wish list for several customers, that navigation (click) implies close of the slide in, as of now they have to click on any other pane to close it witch is for the users irritating. But I was hoping that if I could resolve the 'show' i could also take care of the 'close'. :)

What would be the trigger of the 'close' slide in pane, in your case ? I suppose it's an operator action like pushing on a button embedded in the slide in pane ?

All seems so logical once you have a working solution 

One would think that this is the purpose reason for AI, the code should know what I'm looking for and not get hung up on things like spelling and correct syntax....

This is a classical case of aveva-need-to-know know-how..

You will not be able to get this from the documentation and as you pointed out, the Techsupport has already stated that its not possible

Still to understand why we can't import the .dll in more recent SP version but we don't have the time to look at it for the moment.

That's strange, but since I have similar issues in 2023 R2 that I could get around, there might be something that could be sorted out. could it be that you already have an older copy in your galaxy?

No clue but as I don't have access to the Archestra."Client" part when scripting I suppose nothing was imported 

So does the import report succeed or failed? Also, if succeeded and if possible in your setup, import the .Core dll too?
