StyleSheet attribute for Web_Browser Widget

Hi All,

With OMI and the WebBrowser App you can use a stylesheet property to apply a custom css to the embedded webpage.

It is very convinient to customize things (hide banner, apply theme colors...).

With the Web_Browser Widget this attribute is not there.

How to modify the .cwp to add this kind of property or could you embedd this option in future release ?

Thanks & Regards,

Mathieu

  • Hi Mathieu,

The creation of Web Widgets has not yet been productised. For OMI Apps, there is a productised, published, and actively maintained SDK, which includes provisions for stylesheet injection. However, this is not the case with the current Web Widget technology (CWP). At present, there is no productised, published, or supported SDK available for Web Widgets.

The CWP technology is primarily used by AVEVA development teams to create web-friendly widgets distributed with our products. These widgets often leverage internal and unpublished structures and "hooks" within the software, which may change between releases without prior notice. For this reason, we recommend that end users exercise caution when utilising these widgets and fully understand the associated implications. It is important to note that R&D is responsible for maintaining the widgets distributed with our products. This includes ensuring compatibility with subsequent releases by providing updated versions that accommodate any changes in the underlying software.

We are actively working on developing an SDK for creating web-friendly content that can be used across multiple products and platforms. Our goal is to ensure that this SDK is robust and flexible, accommodating features such as stylesheet injection. However, at this time, there is no straightforward method for incorporating such capabilities into custom widgets.
