Communications failure

Hi Team

I trust you are well. May you please assist on possible reasons for communications failure between G2 TCS and System Platform, OI-Gateway is used to allow comms between the two systems.

There was a time some of the highlighted values went bad, and the issue was resolved by restarting all the servers.

There was no power outage or any interruptions to the servers.

We tried to identify the root cause for this failure but cannot find anything, Could you please advise on the possible reasons for this failure? I would appreciate any guidance to know the root course,

please let me know if you need more information

  • We might be missing some information here.  I'm not sure what is the "G2 TCS" that you are connecting to Gateway.  I'll assume for now that it is an OPC server.  From the diagnostics screen though, we are seeing several topics, so it's not clear.

In general, with issues like this, we want to trace it out, as well as to check all the available logs.  In this case I would look at the OCMC for the local logs on the Gateway, and if it is an OPC server, I'd also look at the Event Viewer / System logs on the Gateway machine as some OPC issues will get logged there as DCOM.

Also, look at any log that the G2 TCS system provides.

There's not enough information here to really diagnose the issue from the past.  You best bet is to open a support case and review the logs I mentioned with a support engineer.
